Keeping up with a cat's hairball treatment while away from home?

My fiance and I have a cat at home who has chronic hairball problems. We keep everything under control by feeding him a small dose of OTC hairball medicine from a tube each morning. However, we are getting ready to go out of town for a couple of weeks (for our wedding, then our honeymoon), and are trying to figure out how to keep up our medicine regimen while we are gone. I noticed that the main ingredient in his medicine is mineral oil - could I just add some mineral oil to his water while we're gone? Has anybody else tried this???

I do believe in what you say. i work in a nursing home and the patients before they die sometimes have conversations with someone before they die and i think it is with who god has sent to get them ready for heaven . It could be anybody, mother dad or any friend or family member. Sometimes they get better out of no where and i think it is for this reason.

I was playing football about 2 months ago, and my knee kind of wobbled and popped, it felt real weird so I stopped, and walked back home no problem. After a few hours my knee what huge and i couldn't really bend it well. I went to the doctor after a few days and he said it was a meniscus injury but said go to the doctor once i got out of school to have it checked out if the swelling was still there. A month later I go home knee still unstable and very swollen but no pain, i go to the doctor and i get an MRI. I doubt they would change the ingredients from country to country. I think alot of people just know that their pets won't eat it or they think they know of a better food so they make up stuff. Sometimes I'm suprized at the number of misinformed people on here. I just read somewhere where a person said that once a dog get the taste of blood in its mouth you can't trust it. Blood has nothing to do with a dog biting. Also some one in the cat forum keeps saying that dry food causes health problem because cats are supposed to get most of their water from their food. I've never had a cat get sick from only eating dry. It's all I feed mine and ours usually live long happy lives. Wet cat food is the problem. My vet tells people all the time that wet food is like fast food for pets. Very fattening.

I think it's more complicated than that. Certainly if the children are living in a normal, middle cl area, the parents should have better control over what their children eat. But if the kids are unfortunate enough to live in a poor, crime ridden area, it gets a little trickier. For example, in a bad neighborhood, you might not let your child play outside so they stay in, glued to the tube. And, because processed foods are cheaper than fresh, you buy the bad stuff because it's what you can afford. Finally, there are some medical conditions that contribute to overweight and obesity. I would never put anything just on the parents.

I'm always really competitive in sports and during PE cl. Difficult choice, but I would recommend In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. It's a fascinating book, very captivating. It's not everyone's cup of tea, so to speak, but if you're interested in true crime/murder type books, then you should definitely read this, as it's so much better than some of the more modern books of this genre.

Recently my friend as I was involved in an accident which left me hurt with slight bleeding. Fortunately my friend escaped with just some minor cuts and bruises. Since I was unconscious my friend isted me out of the car. My friend is HIV+. I have not thought about the situation much but my friend is worried that she might have transmitted the virus to me. No follicles showing up in ultrasound?

My husband and I are going through a few tests because we have not been able to get pregnant...my blood work & his semen ysis all came back normal. I had an ultrasound done on CD 12 and they said I had no follicles...the only thing they told me about this is that I wouldn't get pregnant this month. BUT...what does this mean? They said that I have to get another ultrasound done on day 12 next cycle and an endo biopsy on day 25...I don't know what the follicle thing is about...does this mean that some months you do have follicles and some you don't? Ceramic ones are good because they heat without light so wont keep the vermin up all night. Just put it over their bedroom and give them plenty of bedding to keep snug. Car heater not working!!?

Ok so the heater doesn't work in my car. It only works on defrost and doesn't blow out warm air at all. It is FRIGGIN freezing out now and the rides to work are terrible. With it being christmas time and having two daughters...$$$ is not an option right now. I've checked around a few mechanic shops and they all seem to say the same thing "heating core" which if it just needs to be flushed isn't very expensive..however if it needs to be replaced I'm looking at $500-$800. I was told of some other things that it could be...vacuum leak which could run $100-$150, or a door stuck(something in the dash) which again its going to run more to the $500-$800 range (for getting into the dash). Why are young people so obsessed with before marriage?

A little background will help you understand where I am coming from: I am a 29 year old male and I live at home with my family (by choice). We (parents and other adult siblings) all get along great and it doesn't cost us (the kids) a dime! A common criticism I hear is that I can't bring a girl home at night to "hook up". I have no interest in having before marriage, so that is clearly not an issue. I have never had a girlfriend yet as it is way too early for serious relationships ( I didn't get around to that first kiss yet either!). I want to get a better job as I recently completed my MA. Bought an old house with a gas furnace in the basement. The flue pipe is connected to the old chimney. There is no pipe or cap visible on top of the chimney and the pilot light keeps blowing out. Not an induced draft furnace. Good strong pilot light when it is lit.Should the flue pipe extend all the way to the top of the chimney?

I'm constantly afraid?

i'm always afraid and I don't know why :( I want to try out new things but it's so damn hard, and every little set back, any tiny thing that goes wrong like a person looks at me the wrong way and I'm bawling my eyes out. Question about sprained wrist?

Okay, I sustained a moderate to severe wrist sprain late April playing football. It is now late June and there is still minor pain enough to keep me away from lifting heavy weights. It does not hurt when it is stabilized only when I rotate and flex my wrist. Is it normal for a sprained wrist to take 2 to 2 1/2 months to heal?

I believe that the decision to remain in Afghanistan will be decided by public opinion related to the casualty figures. If the Taliban keep on killing and wounding NATO personnel than eventually the countries involved will be forced by public opinion to stop sending them. Think of this there are usually around 100 killed every month but about 6 times as many wounded every month. The NATO troops are limited in the use of indirect fire weapons but the Taliban are not. As the taliban get better and better weapons soon they will control the battlefield and NATO troops will have their rifles against Taliban who have rockets and mortars. When that happens than it will be time to leave.

How can I get back into running?

I would suggest you set up a weekly plan for you running. Start by running approximately 3 days a week and run at a conversation type pace until you feel fatigued and then walk until you comfortable again. Start with approximately 2 miles and slowly build up each week by approximately 10% or a 1/2 mile added to your distance. Make certain you have some good running shoes (not volleyball shoes). Don't find excuses Not to run, but set a time each day to make your run part of your routines so it becomes more of a fun hobby and something you'll look forward to each time.

Could moccasins with the soft, squishy, gummy soles be worn outside?

im planning on buying moccasin boots. these boots i found were absolutely perfect, but the soles (the bottom of the shoe) were soft and squishy and gummy. It kind of looked like dried hot glue? I think the best bet would be to start charting your BBT and fertility signs so you can determine when you are ovulating. It sounds like the ultrasound confirmed that you may have already ovulated by the time you had , so it wouldn't hurt to start trying earlier this month. You get pregnant by having in the 2 or 3 days leading up to ovulation and sometimes the day of or shortly after ovulation if the sperm can get there before the egg dies. The egg normally survives for 6-24 hours. I can't answer your questions about Clomid, sorry.

Do you ever HATE being so (ONLY if you do have SOME these traits or know someone who does!!!!): shy, stressed, critical, introverted, quiet, scared, worry a lot, thought of as too serious or not fun or boring or average by others, ytical, have a monsoon of emotions within us but keep them all bottled in, neat freak/always have to clean, perfectionist, think too much, negative, bossy, argumentative, always wanting to do things for people and help them out with something, work a lot,etc. I swear its like we put so much pressure on ourselves to be perfect, or feel we have to be a certain way, or idk...its just that and i just feels like we cant "let go" and be the real us inside for some reason, its like we are blocked from doing that and its like we push ourselves to and beyond the limit and go into overdrive! So I am asking that because of all these negative qualities very few people get to know the "real us", the real us that is within our core past that tough/rough/serious surface we put up, that sometimes it just feels like the weight of the world is literally on our shoulders! its like we are our own burden! But what i dont understand is WHY we have the traits we do, why cant we just "let the weight be lifted off our chests" and just not give a **** about what people think (for example: your shy and you want to talk to someone *like a cute guy or girl* or go somewhere but you don't because your nervous of how the person will react or what might happen), or another example (*this one really pisses me off lol* you know a bunch of your friends are going out for a fun night out but you get all pissed or whatever b/c they didn't invite you even though you know they would be happy to have you go out w/ them its like you need there permission to go out with them, or that they talk about going out & having fun around you but dont say anything a/b you coming w/ them unless you ask if you can go!) I just feel we are really misunderstood and extremely complicated. it just feels like we are both parents (telling ourselves what to do, disciplining ourselves and having certain high expectations and goals for ourselves in life) and children (following/obeying rules,elders and pushing ourselves to achieve those goals & expectations without hardly any fun) in one. its crazy!!! please tell me im not the only person out there in the world that thinks this!!!!

Goo Gone is good to get sticky stuff off of most any surface, but it IS oily. I'm not sure using it on suede would be such a good idea because it would probably leave an oily stain. Try using an ice cube. Rub the spot with the ice clube until the residue freezes and maybe you can rub it off.

I was told to send money through them overseas for an apartment here because the owner is going to be in a different country for a few years and is subletting. What kind of snake?

I live in a town that isn't very populated and i live with a grove, so obviously snakes are inevitable - but what kind of snake is slithering around? It doesn't seem to feel threatened, or be a threat [i hope], because i walked right ped it, and turned around when i heard a noise and saw it slither slowly away, in back of me. That was the first time i noticed it, all i saw was that it seemed like a solid tan/brown colour. I didn't get freaked out, but i'm not that afraid of snakes i guess, so i just walked away. Then i saw it again yesterday [or at least the same kind of snake] it was slithering down the grove and i noticed that it was two colours, pale red and the tan/brown. I've looked up a lot of snakes and cant find one that it resembles the closest i could come up with was a rubber boa and perhaps a rat snake, but even then it didn't have both colours i was looking for. I just want to know if its a poisoness snake and a threat.

i fully agree with you. they are public servants, yours, mine etc. we pay them salary in the form of tax payment. but they behave like masters. no authority is educating them to behave properly. this basic truth to be made known to everybody so that lesson to be taught to the errant!

Having dealt w/someone w/OCD you have some of the symptoms. My first suggestion would be to contact your primary care physician and have a thorough examination/blood work up/the whole deal. Eliminate the possibility ofany physical problems. Next I would see a therapist. Your dr. can recommend one. Meanwhile, start journaling. You'll be surprised at how much will come out of this. Simply start writing, almost to the point of not deliberately thinking too much about what you are writing. Let out your true feelings. Set it aside without reading what you wrote. The next day do the same, for a wk and then go back and read your writings. Something may just pop out at you and give you a clue as to why you do not allow yourself to follow through. Keep journaling. Your dr. may even suggest a low dosage of an antidepressent. Be open with your thinking. You do not have a mental problem. This just sounds like a bump in the road - Good Luck!

16 weeks pregnant w/ a sinus infection...what can I do?

I'm 16 weeks pregnant with my first! :-D But unfortunately I've managed to get a sinus infection. Even before I got pregnant I would get sinus infections 2-3 times a year and this sinus infection seems to be intensified with the pregnancy. My head is so full of pressure, my nose is both stuffy and runny(I can hardly breathe), and due to all the heavy mucas and drainage my throat hurts and its making me nausceous and I keep gagging. I use a saline sinus rinse and that helps but is there anything else? The OB nurse said I could take sudafed but I just don't really wanna take any chances with medication(and sudafed is a Cl B so that makes me a little leary)...Any home remedies/natural remedies anyone's got that won't harm my growing baby? Please help, I'm miserable.

I do computer aided drafting (CAD). I am currently full-time employed with an engineering company. I would like to make some money 'on the side" by marketing my CAD services to some smaller companies. Now I know that moonlighting is a conflict of interest with my current company, and I'm ok with that. I will be marketing to much smaller clients than my current emplyer would ever seek or even contract with. So, I am ok with the "conflict of interest" with my current employer and am aware that is something that I will need to deal with if I am discovered. SO, to help hide my personal identity when sending out marketing pieces, and writing letters, I was thinking aobut using an alias. Is that legal? It may be a little morality issue that I would need to get over, but how about the legalities of the issue? I would do the work under a company that I will form, but can I use an alias, or even an abbreviation of my name, such as just my first and middle name? Should I register my alias some how with the state, like a "fictcious name" as a company would? The last time I had was on January 13th 2010. I had my period in Januar, February, and March but haven't had one for April. There was a time in April that I cramped really bad and had all the signs of starting a period but it never came. I'm not sick and I don't appear to be gaining weight. I took 2 over the counter pregnancy tests (one at nite and one in the early morning) and they were both negative. Could it be possible that I'm pregnant and not know? My periods are like clockwork so I'm worried why I didn't get my period this month. I have one daughter and didn't show with her til I was like 6 or 7 months...but I don't even have a bump?! I'm a top cross country and track distance runner. But i have a hamstring pull and its taking forever to heal. i had to miss all of track season for my stupid hamstring to heal. Now im not allowed to run for a whole month and a half which is killing me now. but now i have to swim for a whole hour and a half a day. will that keep me fit and and healthy like the way i am now and will aquatic running help?
