My Oil level WAS too full it was causing my hesitation, what are your thoughts on this?

Yes, it could bog things down. The crankcase is designed to hold a certain amount and this allows clearence for the crankshaft offsets to stay out of the pool of oil. When you overfill it the crankshaft has to wade through the heavy oil for over half of it's revolution. That would be like you running through knee deep water, It's going to slow you down.
