OK i just got my ear pierced about 2 weeks now the piercer a professional told me 2 weeks and i can change?

Can i change it i have a gold one (the earring i was pierced with) in have not taken it out at all yet,it hurts a bit.Can i change it for a fake diamond one which is about five quid.
