Does a Catholic wedding have to take place in the local Parish or can it be in another Catholic church?

I was christened a Catholic and wish to have a Catholic ceremony when I get married. Admittedly in my family my own generation and even that of my parents are not regular church goers, however I wish to have a Catholic ceremony. My local Parish - the church where my mother, myself and my siblings where christened, and the church where all other family events took place was recently demolished and the next nearest church has now become our local parish. Rather than getting married in a church which I have never set foot inside I would prefer to get married in a church in a different part of the city as this is where my father and his siblings where christened, I have been to this church several times and my grandmother still goes to this church. I would much prefer to get married somewhere where there is a family connection but I am not sure whether I would be able to do this.
