Speech problems in a 5 y/o please help!?

A year before my oldest started kindergarten, he wasn't saying much of anything. I called my local school district and they screened him and I was able to go to the local elementary school twice weekly for a speech pathologist to work with him. By the end of the year, he was talking fine and had learned to read in the process.
